In September, during Hurricane Irma recovery, I was contacted by a momma who'd just delivered her 2nd boy and was looking to do newborn photos. I was able to get them in, but with all of the cleaning up, kids out of school, and sitters out of town, we decided to skip the in person consultation and booked/planned her session via email.
When the family arrived for their session, big brother handsomely styled and baby brother with his big eyes and beautiful red hair, I knew we'd get some great photos :) We started with family and sibling shots (big brother hugging and kissing baby - <3 <3 <3), then worked hard to get baby Corbin wrapped up and sleeping for some shots of him alone. He fought me, but we ended up getting not only wide awake shots of him looking RIGHT at the camera, but sleeping, posed, and even a few smiling shots as well!
I'm so glad Corbin's mommy reached out to me last minute to book his newborn shoot - so often moms think that once baby is here, there's no time to book. Generally, I like to book sessions a few months in advance, but since I take on such a small number of sessions each month, I do often have time to squeeze people in last minute when needed.
I hope Corbin's family cherishes the images we got of him during those 1st few weeks of his life. I had such a nice time meeting the family and creating these images for them, and hope to see them back in here someday soon to document more of their sweet boys' lives.
